The Begonia Irian Jaya has leaves that look like silver blades with dark green or black veins and deep red lower sides. It is shrub-like, upright (cane-like), reaching roughly 2 to 3 feet (60–90 cm) tall at maturity. Under optimal conditions, it will produce clusters of bright pink blooms that can appear year-round. It will do best in indirect light (too much harsh, bright sunlight will burn its leaves) and high humidity, ideally in a terrarium or greenhouse enclosure.
