Begonia Julau

$20.00

The Begonia Julau is a rare terrarium plant that originates from Malaysia. Its leaves are a dark black/green colour with a metallic sheen and is speckled with bright pink spots.

Light: Needs bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can easily scorch the thin foliage and may cause the vivid pinks to wash out

Humidity: Requires high ambient humidity (60% - 80%). Because of this, it is highly recommended to house them in terrariums or under a glass dome to prevent the leaves from crisping up.

Soil & Watering: Prefers a well-draining, organic-rich, moisture-retentive soil mix (such as a blend of potting soil, peat, and perlite or pumice). Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged to avoid root rot

Who We Are

We’re Equatorial Exotica - Tropical Plants, an online plant shop located in Orillia, Ontario.

For years, we have been growing exotic, tropical, and rare plants, often from cuttings and corms, covering the entire surface of our home in mini greenhouses and tropical terrariums.

We’ve had wonderful partnerships with other local tropical plant vendors and enjoy meeting fellow collectors at plant shows across Ontario.

We are at a point where perhaps, we now have too many plants (gasp!), and want to share them with other plant lovers across the country who are just as passionate as we are about leaf variagations, textures, and colours.

As our business grows, we will have more plant care tips and accessories to go around, and hope you’ll continue to check-in with us as we our inventory grows.

If you’re looking for a plant that we do not currently have in stock, please don’t be shy to reach out, and we’ll see if we can source it for you.
